Oakland Airport Transportation


BART is the Bay Area Rapid Transit that serves different areas of the region, included Oakland airport. Service from OAK airport is available via transfer at Coliseum Station, located near the airport (Platform 3). It runs to San Francisco, Oakland and other BART destinations.


- Line 73 Shuttle Bus: To reach the Coliseum/Oakland airport BART station from the terminals, passengers can pick up the bus Line 73.

- Line 805 Shuttle Bus: is the shuttle bus that operates during night (from 12.30am to 4.30am) and links Coliseum/Oakland airport BART station and the terminals.

- Line 21 Shuttle Bus: links Oakland Fruitvale and Alameda.


Passengers can take the Bart from the Terminal 1 Baggage Claim and from Terminal 2 it is located just a few minutes by walk. Travel time is about 10 minutes from Oakland airport and Coliseum.

Service runs every 6-7 minutes approximately. After 11pm runs every 10-12 minutes.


Opening hours:

- During the week: from 05.00 am to 00.00 am.

- Saturdays: from 06.00 am to 00.00 am.

- Sundays: from 07.00 am to 00.00 am.


Methods of payment accepted: Cash and the major of credit cards.

- Downtown Oakland - $8

- Downtown Berkeley - $8.60

- Coliseum - $6

- Walnut Creek: $10

AC Transit is the public bus system in California. It operates in more than 10 different cities and areas located in Contra Costa and Alameda counties.


Buses also links with:

- 21 BART (train) stations

- 6 Amtrak stations

- 3 ferry terminals


Fares (one way):

- Adults - $2.10

- From 5 to 18 years old, Seniors and Disabled passengers - $1.05

If passengers need to transfer to another station, there is an additional $0.25 and passengers that have to do a transfer to the BART system may pay an additional $1.85.

Amtrak train stops right at the BART Coliseum station. The pedestrian walkway connects the two platforms. Most of the trains run daily.

To pick up a taxi: at the designated areas in the curbside of both terminals, T1, T2.
